Boat Regatta: - Rules and Plans - Materials & Construction Plans
|
Rock Hill Ruritan Club The Stafford Cardboard Boat Regatta on July 20th from 10 am is expected to be another big family oriented success. Plan to attend the boat building classes on June 8th and 14th at the Stafford Parks and Recreation's Courthouse Community Center (Gym). Thanks to all the 2012 participants, the sponsors and our co-workers at Stafford Parks and Rec. Please support the sponsors of this important family event. Turn out and have fun. The 2013 Spring Mulch sale was a BIG success. Thanks to all who purchased mulch and to those who helped deliver it to our neighbors as a Spring beatification effort. It supports the club's scholarship program. For further support of the Scholarship program, the Club sold White House Christmas Ornaments in 2012. It is helpful for orders to be in by November 1st. Thanks to those of you who supported this meaningful project. Our Roadside Pick-up project on March 16th went well along Furnace Road, off Garrisonville Road (Rt. 610) and another is planned for June 8th. Our Fall Roadside Pick-up projects are scheduled for September 7th and October 26th. Feel free to join in. It is somewhat like a treasure hunt and they all will start at 8:00 am. Our Fall Blood Drive is scheduled for 8 am November 9th at Mt Ararat Church. Due to a scheduling conflict, the May donation opportunity was cancelled. Whole blood is always needed in this area. Donors are very much appreciated. Please plan on a November donation. Join us at our 1st Tuesday 7:00 pm meetings at Vinny's on Garrisonville Road, beside the 610 Carwash. Great food - great fun. |

The
district purchases small toy 'Rudy Bears' and donates them to emergency
personnel for use in consoling small children involved in difficult situations.
In addition, the Club is the proud owner of Rudy Bear himself and he is always happy to be part of your Club functions. He has helped the Rock Hill Fire and Rescue Departments as well as the Stafford County Sheriff's Department. Rudy has appeared at numerous functions including the Cardboard Boat Regatta sponsored by the Club. To reserve time on his schedule, contact chief bear handler David Watson.
