9TH ANNUAL CARDBOARD BOAT REGATTA ON JULY  21, 2012

FUN RACERS - BUILT BY YOU

 

What: Fun races with 2-4 man boats made of cardboard, glue, tape and paint.

 

Where: At Aquia Landing Beach (end of Brooke Rd) Saturday July 21, 2012

 

Who: You make the cardboard boats to show and to race. Teams accepted.

 

Why: To have family fun on Countywide basis. Ages 5 to 95.

How do I get involved?  Get some buddies together and find some cardboard, glue, tape and paint. See the boats on the websites above to get some ideas, check rules on back of this sheet, think creatively and build a boat for 2-4 passengers. (Luxury liner class is for 4-6 passengers and may be longer than 16 feet.)

 

Classes on How to Build:  June 23 at 9am and June 22 at 6pm at Courthouse Community Center, Hope Rd at Stafford Avenue. Sign up at 658-4572.

Judging and design awards given before the race & speed awards given for race winners. Come with your own creation and have fun with other happy folks. Snacks and drinks available on site.  Show your creation and float your boat! 

 

Scouts, Young Marines, clubs, church and school groups also welcomed. Fun for all.
