9th Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta (2012)

Race Information

 1.      Children’s Races (7-14) are approximately 50 yards long

2.      All other races are approximately 100 yards long

3.      Maximum water depth is approximately 5 feet

4.      Life Guards and a Safety Boat are provided

5.      Simple paddles will be available, however bring paddles (oars) if you have them

6.      Life jackets must be worn by all participants when racing

a.      Some personal floatation devices will be available

b.      Bring your own if possible

7.      Boats may be raced in heats with times determining place finishes in each category

8.      Boats can be raced in all categories that apply to the boat and crew

9.      Boats may be available for use at the event for a $5 fee for each crew member

  Materials

·      Cardboard (Packing Boxes, Mattress Boxes, TV and Appliance Boxes, Carpet Tubes)

·      Liquid Nails, Contact Cement

·      Duct Tape, Packing Tape, Paper Tape

·      Paint (Latex Paint, Kilz)
